At Paediatric People, our clinicians work as a team because we know this means we can give your child outstanding care, when you need it, without going on a long wait list.
Your child’s first appointment at Paediatric People is normally with one of our specialist GPs. Our GPs spend an hour with you and your child to take a comprehensive history, initiate care, and organise relevant assessments. This is an essential step in your child’s paediatric care.
Your second appointment is with the Paediatrician who will review your child’s assessments, discuss diagnosis and progress treatments as appropriate.
Our clinic nurse provides support to you and your child as you attend our clinic. She also provides any support you may need in the days after your
appointment, for example in navigating a treatment plan.
Paediatric People offers highly individualised care, providing appointments with the appropriate clinician at each stage.
We have deep respect for children and families. This informs every aspect of our clinic. We listen to you and we keep you informed. We provide you with easy ways to stay in touch with us, and update us on your child. We carefully consider your referral to ensure you have the right people on your team.
We provide longer appointments so you are not rushed. You can take the time you need to explore your child’s health. We ensure you are heard and your child is understood, and we individualise care to support your child to reach their optimal health and wellbeing.
We are inclusive and we celebrate children and family members as individuals. We welcome diversity and we provide a safe environment for young people and family members.
One of the unique aspects of Paediatric People is that our clinicians are a true team. By collaborating and sharing care of children, we can provide holistic, individualised care, tailored to meet the needs of your child and family.

Your first appointment at our practice will typically be with one of our specialist General Practitioners, who are highly experienced in paediatric care and work in collaboration with our paediatricians. Find out more about our team here.
In the first appointment, time is spent to understand your child and provide early treatments, and organise relevant screening tools, referrals and interventions.
This appointment is an integral part of our paediatric care and is distinct from the work done by your referring doctor. Our process allows us to see your child quickly and ensure holistic care.
Following this appointment, your child’s care will be discussed in an integrated team meeting with our paediatricians. You will be contacted following this if there are any updates to your child’s care.
A follow up appointment will be offered to you – this is typically when you will meet one of our paediatricians. However, some of our patients never need to see a paediatrician, and receive optimal care with our specialist GPs.
Our process is designed as an improvement on the convential paediatric system, when children normally wait 12-18 months to be seen by a paediatrician, and diagnoses and treatment plans are often only possible after 2-3 paediatrician appointments.
