We provide care via a team approach with paediatricians, paediatric GPs and nursing. Our focus is on the specialist management of children and young people; we greatly respect and support the role of general practitioners who refer to us and include them in ongoing patient care.  By working as a team, we provide short waiting times alongside thorough, comprehensive support of children and families (eg after-care following the commencement of medication).  The initial, complex developmental and mental health history of our patients is typically taken by one of our GPs who specialises in paediatric medicine. If urgent issues are identified, the paediatrician can be brought in to the appointment; otherwise investigations and screening tools are organised in this appointment so that, when children see the paediatrician, their care can be fast-tracked.  This leads to more rapid diagnosis and treatment commencement.
