Daniel Engelman is an experienced paediatrician who sees children from the newborn period to adolescence. He completed his paediatric training in Melbourne, Darwin and internationally, and has worked as a consultant paediatrician at the Royal Children’s Hospital for more than 10 years. Daniel has experience with a wide range of conditions, and interest areas including infectious diseases, complex medical conditions and syndromes, eczema, asthma, food allergies, constipation, incontinence and enuresis, growth issues, autism and ADHD.
Daniel is a gentle and compassionate clinician who takes a holistic approach to the consultation, centred on what matters most to the child and their family. He works closely with allied health and educational professionals.
Daniel is also an experienced clinician scientist with further qualifications in public health and tropical medicine. As a Team Leader at Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, his research focuses on the prevention of infectious diseases that affect children and their families globally. He has held several international leadership positions and is a technical advisor to the World Health Organization.
Daniel enjoys time in nature, mindfulness, music and the arts. He is the father of two adolescents who are helping him to learn more about paediatrics every day.
